Double chin treatment

According to a study by the American Society for Dermatological Surgery (ASDS), 73% of consumers said they were worried about their double chin. Subsequent completeness or so-called double chin is an aesthetic flaw due to genetics, skin relaxation with age or sudden changes in weight. Not always sport and healthy life are enough to remove the double chin. The solution is injectable therapy with deoxycholic acid.

What is deoxycholic acid?

Synthetic deoxycholic acid is an innovative scientific discovery in the field of medicine. It is designed to treat moderate to severe congestion or obesity associated with submental (under the chin) adipose tissue in adults. Desoxycholic acid is a type of bile acid that is produced by the liver. Its purpose in the body is to decompose the fat components of the food. Scientists, however, have shown that this acid can also melt the fat in the double chin.

How does deoxycholic acid work?

When injected into subcutaneous fat, deoxycholic acid causes lysis of adipocytes (destroys the fat cell membrane and degrades the fat contained in them) within 28 days. Once destroyed, these cells can not store or accumulate fat again.

The advantage of deoxycholic acid therapy is that, after achieving the desired aesthetic outcome, subsequent treatment is not necessary.

Tested and certified.

Desoxycholic acid is the only approved injection therapy tailored to the patient's individual needs, which causes irreversible degradation of the fat cells under the chin. Look for clinics using the certified deoxycholic acid product.

How is treatment applied?

The required amount of deoxycholic acid and the number of procedures are determined by the treating physician depending on the individual condition of the patient and the desired result. The doctor applies a series of injections in the affected area under the chin. The procedure lasts 15-20 minutes, and for better patient comfort before injection, can be placed ice or cold compress in the treated area or injection local anesthesia (eg lidocaine). After the procedure, it is advisable to avoid salty foods and alcohol.

When do you see results?

Most patients treated with deoxycholic acid experienced a noticeable improvement in the chin profile within 2-4 therapies with an interval of at least 1 month between them. Up to 6 therapies can be used. Results are progressively deployed in the next month to a month and a half after therapy.

Who can be treated?

Desoxycholic acid is intended for the treatment of men and women with moderate to severe congestion or obesity associated with excessive fat under the chin.

Is recovery time needed after the procedure?

In most people recovery time is minimal, some malaise is most commonly observed after the first treatment. You do not have to break away from the work process or postpone social activities and engagements.

What side effects can be observed after the procedure?

As with other injection therapies, side effects may occur following treatment with deoxycholic acid. Patients report a slight swelling after the procedure, which means that the product is working. Some side effects such as redness, swelling and tingling or itching may be observed in the treatment area. Typically, cold compressing for 10-15 minutes helps to suppress side effects. Contact your doctor if any side effects occur.

Who can`t be treated?

Deoxycholic acid treatment is not recommended for pregnant and breast-feeding women. Caution should be exercised in patients over 65 years of age. Thyroid disease should be excluded prior to injection, as a possible cause of subliminal obesity. Deoxycholic acid should be used with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, renal impairment, bleeding disorders that treat antiplatelet therapy, patients who are immunosuppressed or use corticosteroids.
